Message from Mr Peter Cashin

Managing Director at Huntleigh

To all our colleagues, friends and customers, I know the devastating impact of Covid-19 is being felt throughout the entire world. I sincerely hope that you, your family and friends are safe and well.

Personally, and on behalf of everyone at Huntleigh in Cardiff, I would like to extend our recognition to the outstanding performance and bravery of the clinicians and support staff that are helping us all around the world during this challenging period.

Huntleigh’s primary focus at this time is to support you in your activity supporting the clinicians, therefore I wanted to reach out and share an update as to how we are responding.

Huntleigh is focused on doing everything we can to minimize disruption in the access to and use of our products. Demand across our entire product portfolio remains strong but in some instances has dramatically increased, in response to this we are increasing our production capability and procuring higher levels of material and components to make products – this may take some weeks to get to the full target level. Our priority is to ensure that we continue to serve our healthcare providers with the best quality products – and at the high levels of service you’re accustomed to. We’re working around the clock to facilitate this, albeit mindful at all times of the safety and wellbeing of our staff.

To help us plan and anticipate this increased demand please stay in regular contact with us through your normal channels and where possible give us early notice of potential requirements in order for us to assign products appropriately and buy materials and schedule workers. This will help everybody in the process end-to-end. In order to support our field based operations we are also working to improve our support to you and the clinicians in the field, in the following ways:

  • Regular communication via our sales managers to review demand.
  • Fast response to volume enquiries.
  • Up to date information via our social media platforms.
  • Developing remote/digital training schemes you or your customers may require, in the form of videos and literature.

This is an unprecedented time for everyone, and the situation is changing daily. We are committed to maintaining our business operations and ensuring you continue to receive the highest quality service.

 Yours sincerely,

 Peter Cashin

Managing Director

Huntleigh Healthcare Limited

Intelligent Intermittent Auscultation A natural progression following decades of experience monitoring mother and child. Huntleigh are delighted to release our new Intelligent Intermittent Auscultation video featuring Professor Sir Arulkumuran. In this film Professor Sir Arulkumuran shares his thoughts about the benefits of graphical display Dopplers and how they can help improve the quality of maternity care around the world. Arguably the most influential & widely known name in the obstetric world today, Professor Sir Arulkumauran having been, amongst many other things, past president of FIGO, past president of the UK’s Royal College of Obstetrics & Gynaecology and the BMA.

Huntleigh presented the Queen's Award for Innovation HUNTLEIGH HEALTHCARE – A Member of the Arjo family It was another proud day for all staff at Huntleigh in Cardiff last week as we welcomed local dignitaries, customers and networking partners from across the UK to join us for our official Queen’s Award Presentation Ceremony. Her Majesty’s Lord Lieutenant of South Glamorgan, Morfudd Meredith who formally presented the award to Huntleigh said, “I was delighted to recently present Huntleigh Healthcare Limited with The Queen’s Award for Enterprise in recognition of its new range of digital handheld Dopplers and its outstanding performance in the field of innovation. It was a privilege to be shown around its Cardiff premises by Peter Cashin the Managing Director and to learn more about the company’s exciting and pioneering work and in particular to meet some of the staff who must be very proud of their achievements. The excellent presentations from staff and clinicians provided a further fascinating insight into the company and its work and I was pleased to note that the company is in the process of developing other world class products also. The company has demonstrated true excellence in what it does, providing inspiration for others. I wish Huntleigh Healthcare Limited continued success and I hope that the Queen’s Award for Enterprise will help to provide the company with new opportunities”. Innovative features in the new products help clinicians to make quicker and more accurate assessments providing benefits to both user and patient. Peter Cashin Managing Director spoke of how good design can improve patient care and clinical effectiveness “features we have introduced such as the high resolution colour display represent a first for handheld Dopplers. This allows clinicians to clearly see vascular waveforms as well as hear digital audio sounds. In the Fetal Heart Rate (FHR) version the FHR data is displayed in high visibility large numbers and recorded digitally as a waveform for archiving and review ” In his speech Ken Poole Head of Economic Development at Cardiff Council congratulated Huntleigh on its achievements, applauding the fact that ‘’ Huntleigh has been creating high quality job opportunities in south Cardiff for 40 years and we certainly hope from a Cardiff Council perspective they will continue to provide new sustainable employment opportunities for our local communities . The company is also a great example of a manufacturing business in our Capital City which has survived and thrived in the competitive global export market through the high quality design and manufacture of innovative products in the healthcare space ‘’. The event was also an ideal opportunity to present the Tenovus Cancer Care charity with £7500 raised through various activities involving all the staff at the site over the last year in recognition of the charities 75th birthday.
